Team Europe defeated Team Czech Republic 3-2 in overtime in their World Cup of Hockey 2016 preliminary-round game at Air Canada Centre on Monday.

Team Europe is 2-0-0 in Group A play. Team Czech Republic is 0-1-1.

Making his first start of the preliminary round, Mrazek kept Team Czech Republic in the game, stopping a penalty shot by Anze Kopitar in the second period and robbing Roman Josi with a sprawling glove save late in the period. "He gave us a chance to win," Team Czech Republic assistant coach Vinny Prospal said.
 

2nd Star: Mats Zuccarello, F, Team Europe

His goal 2:17 into the third period gave Team Europe a 2-1 lead. In overtime, he sprung Leon Draisaitl on a breakaway for the game-winning goal.

Scored game-winner on a breakaway, shooting the puck under the blocker of Mrazek 2:06 into overtime. It was his second goal of the tournament. "It's pretty special to be on such a big hockey stage," Draisaitl said. "It's always fun to score."
