Lenny Kravitz to headline World Cup celebration

Rock legend will perform concert Friday following salute to 2016 Canadian Olympians

TORONTO - In keeping with the World Cup of Hockey's commitment to deliver a first-class fan experience, on and off the ice, the World Cup of Hockey Celebration of Champions on Friday, Sept. 23 will go on as planned with rock legend Lenny Kravitz as the new headliner. The Friday night concert at the Scotiabank World Cup of Hockey Fan Village in Toronto's historic Distillery District will close the World Cup of Hockey Celebration of Champions event, which also will include a salute to 2016 Olympians. 

Fans with tickets purchased via Ticketmaster.ca to the Sept. 23 World Cup of Hockey Celebration of Champions event, which was originally going to feature a performance by Green Day, will have the option of a full refund or can use the paid ticket to attend the event now headlined by Lenny Kravitz. For tickets purchased online through Ticketmaster.ca, you can click on "Request Refund" on your order in "My Account" by Sept. 22, 2016 at 5:00 PM EST. Tickets to the Sept. 23 event are not available for purchase at this time. Should tickets become available, ticket purchase information will be provided at a later date. 

Gates will open to ticketholders on Sept. 23 at 3:00 p.m. The festivities will begin with a special welcome to members of Canada's 2016 Olympic team at 6:30 p.m. followed by a performance by Kravitz. All attractions inside East Fan Village are included with the ticket to the World Cup of Hockey Celebration of Champions. Distillery Fan Village will be free and open to the public.

From Sept.16 to Sept. 25, Scotiabank World Cup of Hockey Fan Village will occupy the Distillery District - renamed 'Distillery Fan Village' for the 10 days - plus more than 200,000 square feet of an untouched lot east of Cherry Street, which will be known as the 'East Fan Village.' Fan Village will celebrate not only the sport of hockey but the food, music and culture of all participating hockey nations and will feature a diverse mix of programming, designed for fans of all ages, including live musical performances, big-ticket prizes and giveaways, and viewing parties for every World Cup of Hockey game broadcast live on Pepsi Live Main Stage video screens.
