TORONTO -- The World Cup of Hockey 2016 is providing fans with memories that will last a lifetime. But for an incredibly unique keepsake, the Scotiabank World Cup of Hockey Fan Village has it covered.
The Pepsi World Cup of Hockey Photo Experience allows fans to share their passion for the game and leave with a 360-degree shareable photo. Fans not only get a chance to put on the jersey of their favorite World Cup of Hockey team, they can grab sticks, hockey gloves and step inside an arena circled by cameras. The result is a one-of-a-kind photo/video that is emailed to them.
"We have props here to give people a chance to create their own hockey sequence," Manu Gabble, who was working at attraction, said. "We take the photo with 42 cameras, then you take a 360-degree shot, so you can see the action from every angle."
The best part, according to Gabble, is the ability for fans to instantly post the photo on social media.
"We email it to you, so you can put on Facebook," Gabble said. "You can share it and make the family and friends jealous for not being here."
Gabble said the Pepsi exhibit has been very popular and it's not hard to figure out why.
"It's a great keepsake for coming out here, so they have something to remember the day by," Gabble said. "It gives them a moment to live their hockey dream. It's been great, everyone loves it."
The entire Fan Village, located in the Distillery District, is a great photo spot, with NHL players, alumni and celebrities making daily appearances.
The Scotiabank World Cup of Hockey Fan Village is a free fan festival in downtown Toronto that will be open through Sept. 25. It is the epicenter for fans throughout the World Cup with something exciting for everyone. The festival celebrates the food, music and culture of all participating hockey nations.
