Team Europe defeated Team Sweden 3-2 in overtime on Sunday in the second semifinal of the World Cup of Hockey 2016. Team Europe will play Team Canada in the best-of-3 final which begins Tuesday (8 p.m. ET; ESPN, CBC, TVA Sports).

3rd Star - Marian Gaborik, F, Team Europe

Beat Henrik Lundqvist at 16:27 of the second period, tying the game at 2-2 and giving Team Europe life. Had four shots on goal, second-most on Team Europe.

 

2nd Star - Nicklas Backstrom, F, Team Sweden

1 GOAL, 3 SHOTS, 21:35 TOI

Scored the first goal of the game at 2:31 of the second period to give Team Sweden an early lead. Won 12 of 23 faceoffs (52 percent) and led Team Sweden forwards in ice time.

 

1st Star - Tomas Tatar, F, Team Europe

2 GOALS, 5 SHOTS, 15:17 TOI

His second goal of the game at 3:43 of overtime lifted Team Europe to the championship series against Team Canada. Scored his first goal 12 seconds into the third period to give Team Europe a 2-1 lead. His five shots were the most of any player in the game.
